Ads about sales are seldom exciting. So how did we make the Pier 1 “One Big Sale and Clearance” interesting? We made Crap Battle.

Using instagram polls in a new way, we got people to send in their crappiest home goods, reposed them, then let the world decide whose crap was the crappiest. Those who had the creme-de-le-crap were rewarded with vouchers to replace their crap with something at the sale. Craptastic.

With thousands of crap entries the activation was Pier 1s most successful to date.
